This research project was initiated to discover the potential of adding extreme density to suburban areas while maintaining levels of quality that we expect in these areas.

The result is a system for organising/ masterplanning a high density village into a 3-D structure, that has both a significant vertical as well as horizontal element.

Within this system, several elements were developed on an architectural level to discover the problems and benefits that such a system would inherit. This project is the beginning of a broader discussion about densification, and the creation of quality in high-rise structures.

As such, this project does not represent a finished architectural design, but rather a series of drawing meant to explore and inspire.
